Your children are a great treasure, and we would be honored to partner with you in educating them—for both now and eternity. Here you can find information about our admission policies. These are intended to help you better understand how we can best serve our community of students and their families.
Admission: Meadow Glade is part of the world-wide Seventh-day Adventist Educational system. All Oregon Conference schools in the North Pacific Union Conference (NPUC), including MGAES, admit students of any race to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, ethnic background, country of origin, or sex in the administration of education policies, applications for admission, scholarship programs, or extracurricular programs.
Qualifications for Admission: Meadow Glade Adventist Elementary School welcomes any young person (K-8) who desires a character-building education. As a Seventh-day Adventist Christian school, high moral principles and respect for God and others are expected from all who attend. Students should realize that when they present themselves for admission to Meadow Glade Adventist Elementary School they, thereby, willingly pledge to observe the regulations and uphold the Christian principles upon which the school is founded. Behavior contrary to this will forfeit a student’s privilege to attend.
Age of Admission: A student may enter kindergarten if he/she reaches the age of five (5) on or before August 31 of the current school year. To enter first grade the child must be six (6) years of age on or before August 31. A birth certificate is required of all first-year students and must be shown at registration. The school may require readiness screening for kindergarten and first grade students.
Health Policies: The state of Washington requires that all students have their immunizations recorded on the Washington State Immunization Form. All students need to have specific immunizations that can be found on the Health Policies Information Sheet. All new students are required to undergo a basic physical exam. Students entering grades four and seven are also required to have a physical exam. Staff and faculty may not provide medication of any type to a student unless we have the required authorization. Permission is also needed for students to self-medicate.
Financial Policies: Meadow Glade Adventist Elementary School derives its income from three primary sources. Eleven constituent churches and the Oregon Conference contribute a significant portion of funding for the school, therefore reducing the total amount families pay in tuition. The school’s operating budget is derived from tuition and operates on a very tight budget, in order to keep tuition costs as low as possible. In order to do this, it is important that tuition payments be received on a timely basis. For a more complete list of financial policies, please see the financial information section in the school handbook.
