Dear MGAES Families,

We are well into week two of eLearning and we want to say – well done! Thank you for your patience with us as we navigate and continue to pioneer a new path of learning for our students. Our hope is that each student feels they are able to connect with their teachers and classmates throughout the week, and while online classrooms are not the same, we are doing our best to create an environment of nurture, spiritual connection and learning.

As you most likely know, yesterday afternoon, Governor Jay Inslee announced that Washington state public and private school buildings would remain closed for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year. While Meadow Glade Adventist Elementary School will not physically reopen our school building for the duration of the school year, we are confident in our eLearning program that we have developed and will continue to provide excellent quality education through that platform. The physical closure of school is an effort to slow the spread of Covid-19 and keeping students, families, friends and communities healthy and safe. We are working on the best way possible to allow families to collect their personal belongings in a timely fashion, please continue to watch our weekly communications for more information.

We have heard from many about the hardships and difficult times for spouses, family members and friends who have lost their job, or have been furloughed or work hours reduced. Please know that we are praying daily for each of you and want more than anything to find ways to help in these less than ideal circumstances we find ourselves in. In an effort to assist families through this crisis the MGAES Administration and Finance Committee wants to work with you, we do not want finances to hinder your child’s Christian education.

1) If you now find yourself in need of tuition assistance please send an email to Jessica Minden stating your need and the Worthy Student Committee will review it.

2) If you need an additional device, please remember your student can check out a Chromebook from MGAES, contact Jessica Minden.

We understand that the continued closure of schools presents many challenges, emotions, and may also raise questions. We want you to know that we are here to support you—we are school family—and will do everything we can to answer your questions and continue your children’s distance education.

We know that so many of YOU are also working long hours and that late into the evening may be the only time you have to communicate. If that is the case, please send an email and understand that your email may not be responded to until school hours the following day. While we are all working these long hours, it may take a little bit longer than normal to communicate. If this causes problems with schoolwork for your child, please communicate that to their teachers, we will work with you. Everyone deserves extra grace right now, your students and your teachers.

Teacher and Office hours:
8:30 AM – 3:30 PM Monday – Thursday
8:30 AM – 2:30 PM Friday

We are committed to maintaining close teacher-student relationships through the remainder of this crisis, and doing all we can to ease the burden on families in whatever way we can. We are just an email or phone call away if you have any questions.
